Original Deerington Application

• Link to Accepted Deerington Application: Here.
• Additional Adjustments to include:

  • is further on his way to accepting his sexuality! Caleb in MOM started him on this path, but he met other queer people who were also out, or as out as someone could be—a big moment in his development at this stage is his relationship with Eddie Kaspbrak, his best friend and later in-game his boyfriend, who confessed to liking boys and is perhaps the first person and certainly the first Loser that Richie voluntarily confessed his big secret to. While this relationship hit a stumbling block when Eddie accidentally peeked into Richie's brain due to an event in October and then when Eddie got possessed by his demonic car Christine in November, they reconciled in December and upgraded their friendship into a romantic relationship in January. Richie also met and befriended people like Ange Ushiromiya and Varian, some of whom he would later voluntarily come out to. He's still not completely there, though, and is terrified of being outed prematurely or seen in public doing something that crosses the line of plausible deniability, something that caused and likely will keep causing some conflict in his relationship with Eddie, who is more open about his sexuality than Richie.

  • met an ever wider variety of people across universes, ranging from fellow vaguely ordinary kids like Will Byers and Lev to superheroes like Natasha Romanov and Wanda Maximoff to space paladins like Takashi Shirogane to aliens like Darth Maul and—listen, you get the picture. At this point, Richie has become very blasé to fellow inhabitants of the multiverse, and is now more likely to simply take someone at face value no matter how wild their story sounds. He is aware of the existence of It the novel and Stephen King the writer, although he has never read it and never wants to thanks, so he's decided to be a lot more circumspect and discreet about fourth-wall knowledge. If Indiana Jones ever shows his face, he is going to shut his fucking trap and pretend he has no idea who the man is. He's got experience with the Star Wars cast, he knows how this goes.

  • has become increasingly fine with his loved ones doing morally shady shit. Living in Deerington has meant that Richie has had to often prioritize the survival of his friends and himself over morality, and this shows in his increasing lack of shits to give about thievery and murder. In Deerington, it paid to be more practical than moral, and on top of that, Richie's loyalty to his friends oftentimes rate higher than his moral standards—when his boyfriend Eddie asked him for help with stealing hospital equipment, he was all in from the first word, and his questions were centered around how they would pull it off. He has also been through enough events fucking with people's minds that he won't necessarily jump to conclusions about their state of mind at the time, although if they do harm to him and the people he personally loves, he'll be much less okay with it.

  • is somewhat more cautious now, especially around the time of events. His time in MOM first introduced him to the idea of Weird Shit Happening Regularly, by dunking him right in the middle of an apocalypse for his first event, and then his time in Deerington was basically a nonstop horror movie from his first day. He has been turned into a werewolf monster, he has dealt with his possessed best friend, he has had his ear sliced off by a rampaging Sith, he's suffered through October, he's even gotten eaten by a dinosaur, which was Not Fun, and all that plus all the other shit he's been through in MOM and Deerington mean he is now more cautious around strange things happening at a certain time. That shit has not historically ended well for him.

  • Deer Country Attributes

    • Canon Powers: No canon powers, but his MOM CRAU gave him some useless superpowers!
Voice Shifting: Richie can manipulate his voice to sound like anyone he wants to. Gender, nationality and age are now no barrier for this kid—if he wants to sound like a seventy-year-old British grandma, he is going to sound like a sweet doddering old British grandma. He can make up a character to fit the voice, or he can do an uncannily good impression of someone else, although the latter option requires that he has heard their voices in some manner before he can sound like them, so for example, if Batman were to use a voice changer around Richie, Richie would only be able to do the modified voice. Yes, I regret giving him this power.

Age Shifting: Richie can turn into an older version of himself, physically, but retains his mental faculties as they currently are. Essentially he's just shapeshifting into his older self in Chapter Two, as played by Bill Hader, but he doesn't gain anything else from it. In fact, should he shift ages, he'll figure out very quickly that he still has to contend with the physical limitations of a middle-aged comedian who does not exercise as much as he maybe should. He also cannot shift into any other age. Sorry Richie, you're either physically 14 or physically 40, there is no middle ground.

Good Chucks: Richie can incapacitate someone via jokes. To elaborate, he can cause someone to go into a fit of screaming laughter for a minute, during which time they will be unable to do much more than roll around on the floor crying with laughter, by telling them a joke of some sort. To spare everyone from fits of laughter every time they talk to the kid, this ability is under Richie's control—it will only activate if he intends it to. Although knowing Richie he'll probably do it anyway just to test it out.

I'm taking out Good Chucks as an ability because he barely ever uses it welp.
    • Blood Type: Coldblood
    • Omen: hyena
    • Blessed Day: December 31
    • Patron Pthumerian: Dorothea
    • Blood Power Manifestation: Listen there is only one reason I picked Coldblood and that's because I want Richie to be able to set shit on fire. So that's what's gonna happen here. He sets things on fire sometimes. He'll start off simply being able to heat things up when he puts them on his palm, and control is going to be something he needs to work on. Once he's mastered that, he can work his way up to being able to shoot fire from his hands. In times of great emotional turmoil or grave danger he can shoot fire from his hands without meaning to, but he won't be able to control it and it won't come to his command otherwise.
