[And then, a young voice calls:] Eddie! Holy fuck, Eddie, you're a sight for sore fucking eyes! [And Richie is just going to sprint forward and pull Eddie into a hug. There's a sizable bag hanging off his shoulder, and the knit cap over his hair and black scarf around his neck (in Florida) suggest he was absolutely ready to break in when he got the message.

The jacket's too big for him, like he didn't quite have the time to go rooting around for one that fit his younger frame. He takes it off and tosses it over Eddie's shoulders, like one would throw a shock blanket over someone.]

There's an ice cream shop just down the road. We can go there right now and talk over the biggest fucking sundae they have.

[Eddie clings tightly for Richie for a moment, crying quietly until he calms himself.]  You're really you.  Thank fuck.

[He pats Richie's back as he lets go of the hug.] They tried to tell me I wouldn't see you again.  But I knew I would!

[He holds onto the jacket gratefully, it's almost like he's still hugging Richie.  This is huge.  Are you a giant when you're old? 

[He manages a smile at the mention of ice cream and the sight of others walking out, signs that more people came back.]  Yeah, let's go.

[Oh, no, no, don’t cry. Richie’s heart cracks when he hears Eddie crying, and he clings back just as tightly, murmuring it’s okay it’s okay Eddie it’s okay. As soon as Eddie lets go, he stuffs his hands back into his pockets.]

I’m always gonna come get you. [It’s a promise, even though Richie doesn’t say as much. He can’t imagine not doing so.] Yeah, like, six fucking foot. I checked. I get tall as fuck, it’s insane.

[He jerks a thumb over to his bike.]

Wanna ride with me? I could probably fit you into the basket.

[Eddie gives another small smile at that.]  You know I'd do the same for you, right? [And he means it.  His mom couldn't stop him from helping his friends back home and she's not around to try to stop him now.]   Jesus, fuck.   We should've asked Bev if you ever stop growing.  Mike and Big Bill probably won't even end up that tall. 

[He glances at the bike.]  Yeah, just don't go too fast.

Well, yeah, duh.

[He's never doubted that. He walks over to his bike to unchain it from the post.]

No fucking way. Bill's gonna be the tallest of all of us, I'll bet. He's just—[and he just helplessly waves a hand around as he pulls the chain off his bike.] I can't see him being shorter than any of us. If I'm six foot, he'll probably be at least two inches taller. [A shrug.] Although my wang's already bigger than his.

[No it's not.]

Hop on up. I'll go slow.

[Eddie walks over to the bike and shrugs.]  Then he'll have to put up with everyone asking him to get stuff off of high shelves and shit.  [he rolls his eyes.]  Who was complaining about his small dick? Your mom or your sister?  They're always happy with me.

[He jokes as best he can, trying to feel normal then carefully climbs into the basket]

You can see over me, right?

[Richie guffaws, at both statements.] Nah, your aunt.

[He hops up onto the bike seat. Yeah, seeing over Eddie is going to be a bit of a challenge, but Richie just pushes his glasses up his nose and nods.]

Yeah, just crouch a little more. [Anyway, he'll go slower than he usually does. He's no Bill Denbrough, certainly, who rides Silver so fast he could outrun cars at his fastest, but usually Richie likes to feel the wind on his face. For Eddie, though? He'll do a lot of things, and slowing his bike down a bit is the least of them.]

[Eddie crouches down and watches all around, just in case one of the import hunters or resistance members suddenly shows up and tries to grab them.] 

Richie, have you seen anyone acting crazy coming out of the base?  Like really batshit, like they didn't remember who they were? Or do you think they all went back to normal?

[measuringdicks]

[He thinks about it for a moment as he pushes the bike off, starts riding down the street.]

Nope. Just the regular sort of crazy coming out. [He pauses, then adds:] A few looked kinda shaken up, like they'd just come out of a fucked-up nightmare, but that's the worst I saw. [And he was really just looking for Eddie. Maybe holding out hope for the other Losers to come through the Porter, certainly, but—mostly just Eddie.]
